Meet Our CUE Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are an integral part of CUE by assisting with both our recruitment and marketing events. Ambassadors are key representatives of the university and provide a vital service in promoting post-secondary education as a whole. Ambassadors are in contact with young learners, prospective students, and influencers of all ages and backgrounds.

Ava


High School: Austin O’Brien
Hometown: Edmonton, AB
Program:
Bachelor of Arts – Psychology major, Elementary Education minor

Future Goals? Become an elementary teacher for grades 1-3 in Edmonton!

Favourite Class? My favourite course so far was PESS 293: Introduction to the Movement Activities of Children Aged 5-12, I really enjoyed how interactive the class was and getting to plan activities and play with the students from Virginia Park!

Why CUE? I chose CUE because I heard so many good things about the education program and wanted to achieve my goal of becoming a teacher, I loved that the class sizes are smaller and are much more personal than larger universities, I feel like I was able to get to know my professors very well!

Hobbies? I enjoy working and tutoring children, Golfing, Hiking, Going to concerts, Scrapbooking, Baking


Dakota


High School: Fort Saskatchewan High School
Hometown: Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Program:
Bachelor of Arts – Drama major, English minor

Future Goals? I’d like to be an actor

Favourite Class? ENG 390 with Reg was awesome, I mean it’s not everyday you get to take an English class about comic books. DRA 149 and DRA 353 are also really fun. It’s nice not to be stuck at a desk for the whole class listening to the teacher lecture. You get to be on your feet, being creative and working with your peers. It’s such a cool thing.

Why CUE? I chose CUE because of the small classes and my singing teacher told me she had heard good things about the drama program from past students. My favourite thing about CUE is definitely all of the amazing friends that I have made during my time here.

Hobbies? My hobbies include watching YouTube, gaming, reading, and chilling with my loved ones (mostly my dog).

High School: RF Staples Secondary School
Hometown: Dapp, AB
Program:
Bachelor of Science – Biology major, Biochemistry minor

Future Goals? A career in female medicine/health.

Favourite Class? BIOCH 343 because Dr. Hemmerling was the most incredible professor, and the content was so interesting! Cell signalling is so cool!

Why CUE? I chose CUE for its small class sizes, and relationships with professors. And this is probably my favourite part of ÌÇÐÄlogo.

Hobbies? Rock climbing, camping, and hiking.

Favourite Class? Psychology. It’s a fascinating course that I have come to love learning

Why CUE? It was the first university to choose me.

Hobbies? Singing, dancing, crocheting, content creation and reading novels (trying to get new ones).

Future Goals? I want to be a successful Information System Auditor.

Favourite Class? The Master of Information Systems Assurance Management course at ÌÇÐÄlogo (CUE) is my favorite so far because it combines practical, hands-on experience with cutting-edge cybersecurity knowledge, taught by industry experts. The comprehensive curriculum, covering essential topics like risk management and ethical hacking, ensures I am well-prepared for real-world challenges in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.

Why CUE? Because of its strong reputation in the field of information systems and its specialized Master of Information Systems Assurance Management program, it aligns perfectly with my career goals in cybersecurity. My favorite thing about ÌÇÐÄlogo is its supportive learning environment, where small class sizes and approachable faculty foster personalized education and meaningful connections with peers and instructors.

Hobbies? In my free time, I enjoy a variety of hobbies that keep me engaged and balanced. I love exploring new technologies. Additionally, I enjoy reading fictional novels, which fuel my imagination and provide a great escape. On weekends, I like traveling and photography, allowing me to connect with nature and capture beautiful moments. Finally, I find relaxation in cooking, which provides a creative outlet and a way to unwind.

Anything else? In addition to my academic and professional interests, I’m deeply committed to fostering a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. I prioritize mental and physical well-being through regular exercise, mindfulness practices, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I also value cultural experiences and enjoy traveling, which broadens my perspective and enhances my creativity. Engaging in community service and mentorship programs is important to me, as it allows me to give back and support others in their personal and professional journeys. These aspects of my life reflect my holistic approach to personal and professional growth.

Favourite Class? ENG 398, very interesting book selection

Why CUE? I chose ÌÇÐÄlogo for the smaller class sizes that allow me to be more than just a number to my professors.

Hobbies? I enjoy working on and racing cars, going to the gym, and riding my bike around edmonton!

Future Goals? My goal is to become a successful businesswoman, widely recognized for my accomplishments and impact. I aim to establish a strong reputation in my field and make a significant difference through my work.

Favourite Class? So far, my favorite course has been Leadership. It has been particularly engaging because it focuses on developing essential skills such as inspiring others, strategic decision-making, and effective team management. The insights and experiences from this course have greatly contributed to my growth and understanding of what it means to be a leader.

Why CUE? I chose ÌÇÐÄlogo University because of its strong reputation for academic excellence and its innovative approach to education. The diverse and inclusive environment, combined with the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty members, made it an ideal choice for me. Additionally, ÌÇÐÄlogo’s commitment to hands-on learning and community engagement aligns perfectly with my career goals and personal values.

Hobbies? My primary interest is exploring life and learning from new experiences. I enjoy discovering new places, meeting diverse people, and gaining knowledge from different cultures and perspectives. This curiosity and openness to new experiences help me continuously grow and adapt.

Anything else? I am an international student with a diverse background, eager to explore new opportunities and enjoy my university life. Despite being an introvert, I have found the courage to participate in university activities, which has been a significant personal achievement for me. I am looking forward to engaging more and making the most of my time at university.

Future Goals? My future career is to be in the Cybersecurity Field.

Favourite Class? My favorite course so far has been Drama 252: Fundamentals of Public Speaking. I liked this course because it helped me build confidence in speaking to people, both one-on-one and in public settings. It also pushed me out of my comfort zone and contributed to my personal growth.

Why CUE? I chose ÌÇÐÄlogo because it has a great reputation for its Information Technology program. Over the years, I have learned a lot from my professors. My favorite thing about ÌÇÐÄlogo is the community and the various opportunities available to students.

Hobbies? My hobbies include reading, cooking, going for walks, and spending time with my family.

Future Goals?  Forensic Psychologist

Favourite Class? DRM 250, I loved how it encouraged students to get out of their comfort zones and prepare them step by step for a more professional speaking dynamic.

Why CUE? I like how it is a small but loving community the classroom environments are closely knitted and you can have better relations with your professors and fellow students, plus the events and how the whole CUE community makes you feel seen and heard.

Why CUE? I love the atmosphere and inclusion of this school. I feel so welcomed, seen and heard by all students and professors. I love the course flexibility, the class sizes, and the amazing opportunities the school offers for students!

Hobbies? I love to read, and I work as an EA in my spare time, as well as Marks. I like spending time with friends and baking/cooking!

Anything else? ÌÇÐÄlogo is full of life and strives for success for all students! It is a safe and comfortable school and I am so proud to be apart of the CUE community!

Future Goals? Psychology PhD – author, speaker, singer, songwriter

Favourite Class? Music 103 – Introduction to Popular Music. It was amazing to see popular music develop over a century and a half, how music and culture affect and interact with each other, and the course was outstandingly facilitated. Superb course delivery, energy, and content.

Why CUE? It has a large enough student base to garner academic credential integrity, and small enough to integrate well into student culture and community, being seen and known by faculty, staff, and other students.

Hobbies? Cooking, reading, writing, physical activities, volunteering, and socializing with others.
